Village Loft
The owners of this West Village loft each had several children from earlier marriages.
Some weekends they would be alone and at other times four kids would descend.
The central area of the loft was dedicated to the children’s space. Through
the use of sliding cherry panels, this bunkroom could sleep and provide privacy
for one or four. The room, with a mix of solid and translucent walls, allowed
light in while containing the clutter. The perimeter of the loft was repainted
and the floors were bleached. New kitchen and baths, with modern style, gave
the entire loft a contemporary sleekness. |
