Central Park West Apartment

This 3000 square foot apartment, in its original pre-war configuration, was renovated to meet the needs of a family with two young girls. The owners wanted to keep the style unpretentious and casual. The master bathroom and kitchen were enlarged, and the arrangement was altered to open and connect the dining room and living room to the spacious entry hall. Natural woodwork was incorporated into all the major rooms to unify and enliven the apartment. While they were young, the two daughters shared a small bedroom; and to save space and create whimsy, their beds were designed as parts of small houses. This room was featured in Wendy Jordan’s design book Kidspace.
